The Jandowae Kindy and Jandowae Domiciliary Care (JDC) will together host the 2018 Fine Art & Photography Exhibition, with all proceeds from this wonderful showcase of talented local artists, photographers and bush poet Mr Brian Weier to benefit our two not-for-profit local community organisations.
The Kindy and Domiciliary have great pleasure in inviting you to participate by showcasing your creative works or by attending the Official Opening event or to visit the exhibition over the Festival weekend.We are already expecting the wonderful artworks/sculptures and photography of 20+ fabulous artists/photographers including Feature Artist Mr Graeme McCullough, Mrs Cathy McClelland and National Award Winning Photographer Mrs Yvonne Hill OAM, plus multi award winning members of the Bell, Chinchilla and Dalby Art Groups, and local and visiting timber sculptors/crafts people. Guaranteed to be a treasure-trove of creative delights!!
TheTimbertown Committee is celebrating its 10thTimbertown Festival this year and the 2018 Exhibition opening night will be the fifth time the event has featured as the Official Opening event for the Festival, and as in each previous year it will be held at the lovely Jandowae Domiciliary Care Building in George Street, opposite the Jandowae Memorial Hall to commence @ 6pm on Friday evening, 8th June 2018 and tickets will cost $35.00 prepaid (try.booking) or $40 at the gate.
The festival has a renewed focus on it’sTimbertown heritage, and the Art & Photography Exhibition will celebrate the theme ‘Reflections of a Timbertown – Past, Present and Future’, showcasing our areas Pioneers, Poetry, Photography and Fine Arts. However, artworks and photography entered into our exhibition do not need to reflect this theme unless you choose to.
Celebrated bush poet and entertainer Mr Brian Weier (and President of the Dalby Country Music Association) will compere the evening and provide his special brand of entertainment and bush poetry recitals as a teaser to the full Bush Poetry program for the weekend of the Festival.
A few new cocktails have been developed for the Opening Night Cocktail Party – the Log Splitter, Bullocky Brew and Cross-cut Chill, so come along and enjoy an evening of celebrating our timbertown community’s hard work and dedication to fostering community spirit and resilience over many generations.
