As part of the 2018 festival, we are proud to welcome Rohan Morris and his Gleneden Bullock Team! Working bullock teams are almost a thing past but were once an extremely valuable part of industries across the countryside. Before skidders, dozers and other machinery became available and affordable, bullock teams were essential for moving timber in difficult terrain with minimal impact on the surrounding bush. Rohan began working bullocks at age 15 and has worked in various locations across Queensland and as far away as the Snowy Mountains (hauling firewood). He is excited to showcase the skills needed to drive a bullock team at the Jandowae Timbertown Festival, talking the crowd through a day’s work with the team, from catching and yoking the bullocks, through to demonstrating the work they can perform.  This is a spectacle that needs to been seen to be believed and in the words of Rohan, "A mature working team is an awesome combination of power and manoeuvrability”.
